Gardasil Vaccine Associated With 28 Deaths In 2008 According To Judicial Watch Report

This Public Interest Group Reviewed Gardasil Cases Found In FDA’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)

According to the Gardasil web site:

GARDASIL is the only cervical cancer vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of human papillomavirus (HPV): 2 types that cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases.

On June 22, 2009 the public interest group Judicial Watch issued a press release regarding the Gardasil vaccine which had the following attention-getting headline and sub-headline:

New FDA Records Obtained by Judicial Watch Indicate 28 Deaths Related to Gardasil in 2008

According to this June 22 press release Judicial Watch is basing their numbers on the group's review of the FDA’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), during which they found:

…28 deaths in 2008 associated with Gardasil, the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV), up from 19 deaths in 2007. The total number of Gardasil-related deaths is 47 since the vaccine was approved in 2006. Overall, the FDA documented 6,723 "adverse events" related to Gardasil in 2008, of which 1,061 were considered "serious," and 142 considered "life threatening."

The June 22, 2009 Judicial Watch press release has links to the VAERS case reports for some Gardasil adverse reactions that are cited as examples.

The press release closes with this "position statement" by Judicial Watch:

"The FDA is supposed to be a guardian of public health, and yet the agency continues to turn a blind eye to what seems to be an extremely serious public health problem. The public relations push for Gardasil by Merck, politicians and public health officials needs to pause so that these adverse reactions can be further studied," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The already serious problems associated with Gardasil seem to be getting worse. No one should require this vaccine for young children."

    A close friend of mine contacted me to warn me not to vaccinate my 10 year old with Gardasil. Her daughter had serious consequences after her 3rd shot.

    My 15-year-old daughter developed shingles two weeks after receiving her first dose of Gardasil. She was in excellent health until then, but has been ill frequently since getting the shot.

    I don’t know if anyone who would know will read this but I’m very curious. What are the blood types of these girls, and is there anyway that it could be related. What I mean is for example, o+ is a less common blood type, and they round up all the blood types from these poor girls and they all match, could that be significant. I know that what they’re giving is a ‘protein’ but blood type tends to be related to everything, and I just wonder what the relationship to these girls is. It isn’t just a random thing.

    I am very curious to know…have there been any reports that show some link between the “vaccine” and stomach and liver issues. My now 19 year old has been in the hospital for a total of 5 months in this past year battling serious liver pains…lab results in the 300’s and 400’s, vomiting daily, dizziness headaches and chest pains. The doctor’s have taken out her appendix and gallbladder, done liver biopsies and multiple endoscopies and colonoscopies to try and determine WHY all of this started happening to a perfectly healthy 18 year old girl. They have concluded that they THINK she has Gastroparesis, but still have no idea why her liver continues to cause her so much pain and why the lab tests show it malfunctioning. Some of the doctors have said she was “Making it all up.” You cannot fake lab results!! ANY advice and sharing of information would be deeply appreciated!!! And yes…this all started happening after she took these shots.

    My daughter was slipped the Gardasil vaccine when she went in for a series of other school required vaccines. She was given several vaccines at once in her arm. I was so infurated that they told me right after that it was for HPV. My daughter was only twelve/thirteen at the time, not sexually active, and I would have wanted to research it and know the risks before making a decision, and ultimately allow it to be her choice. I thought it was very ethically wrong for the doctor’s office to not properly inform me and get my consent, rather they just slipped it in with the other vaccines she was there for. Since that time, about four years, my daughter has had severe pain in her upper shoulder near the injection site that is vey debilitating at times. She has also gotten increasingly worse asthma and her allergies have become severe. Everyone should be allowed to make an informed decision rather than having a vaccine pushed on them in any way.
